Merkin Hall Debut

May 9th | 2025, 7:30pm

Katherine joins pianist Anthony Ratinov and double-bassist, Nina Bernat for an evening recital at Merkin Concert Hall. C0-presented by Concert Artist Guild and the Kaufman Music Center, Nina programmed a beautiful concert of works, paying hommage to her grandmother. The program included a world premiere for voice and double-bass, Lara Poe's Songs of Self and excerpts from Allan Blank's Poems from the Holocaust

From the review:
"As perfect and engrossing as the evening had been thus far, in the musicians' performance of Allan Blank's Poems from the Holocaust they surpassed themselves in this powerful and deeply moving set of songs about some of the darkest years the world has ever experienced...Katherine Lerner Lee again sang with sublime clarity and beauty of both timbre and expression; in terms of communicating emotion through the colourings of the texts, she put me in mind such iconic lieder singers as Barbara Bonney and Frederica von Stade."   - Oberon's Grove

Album Release: Susan Botti's River Spirits

New Focus Records, May 9th 2025

"Composer and soprano Susan Botti's River Spirits features her eclectic musical language, fusing elements of Renaissance motet, operatic aria, and the experimental avant-garde to create a beguiling work that floats above era and stylistic specificity. Featuring performances by Botti and her vocal colleagues Mary Bonhag and Katherine Lerner Lee, River Spirits revels in lush textures and earthy expression."

World Premiere of Scott Wheeler's A Woman of Her Time

February 1st, 2025

"Wheeler’s sweeping suite on the life of fashion designer Coco Chanel was eruditely composed and splendidly executed by the expanded consort ensemble — a pleasure from beginning to end. Soprano Katherine Lerner Lee lent Chanel enough wry edge and dry humor to light up Wheeler’s many one- and two-liners. (e.g., “Money is like the sky: pure possibility.”)
